Join our team and help us finish and launch our inspiring story about
America's greatest tailor Martin Greenfield!

Martin Greenfield survived the Holocaust as a teenager, immigrated to the United States, and worked his way up in the tailoring business, soon making suits for President Dwight D. Eisenhower only a few years after General Eisenhower liberated him from the Buchenwald concentration camp in Germany.

Mr. Greenfield has made suits for nearly every US president since Eisenhower, and has dressed hundreds of celebrities. Up to age 90, he continued to work at his Brooklyn, New York factory, along with his sons Jay and Tod, who now run the operations at Martin Greenfield Clothiers. In 2023, Martin's grandson David joined the company as the third generation of Greenfields.

"The Presidents' Tailor - From Auschwitz to the White House" is a beautifully-photographed, life affirming story of human resilience, forgiveness, and the timeless art of fine men's tailoring.

We have completed both a 30-minute version, which was broadcast on German public TV MDR in 2018, as well as a 39-minute version, which we will launch at a major International film festival in early-2024. We are targeting a nationwide broadcast on PBS for early-2025. Please contact us if you would be interested in becoming an underwriter for the broadcast. The film will have an estimated nationwide reach of 3 million viewers.

In October 2021, we won the D-Facto Motion Digital Motion Factory award at the DOK Leipzig film festival in Germany. This will provide $12,000 worth of post-production services, which will cover most of our color grading and sound mixing expenses as well as the production of a DCP for theatrical screenings. Now we are seeking additional funding to cover marketing and distribution expenses so we can get the film out to the widest possible audience.

As of November 27, 2023, we have a budget deficit of $183,813, much of which is deferred salaries on the part of the director and the producers. The filming and post-production personnel have been paid in full. Below is an overview of our income sources and expenses to date. Your contributions will help cover the following expenditures:
  • marketing costs (including website, posters, social media, publicist)
  • travel expenses for in-person presentations at film festivals and other events
  • office and administrative expenses
  • Errors & Omissions insurance
  • deferred salaries
  • underwriting expenses (PBS broadcast)
All donations are 100% tax-deductible through our 501(c)3 fiscal sponsor From the Heart Productions. You will be sent a receipt per email as soon as your donation has been processed.

If you do not need a tax-deduction, please consider making a donation directly to the filmmakers. 100% of your contribution will go directly toward completing and distributing "The Presidents' Tailor".

Thank you for your support!

Yes, we are a fiscally sponsored project of From The Heart Productions, which is a public 501(c)3 organization recognized by the IRS. Your donation is tax-deductible to the fullest extent permissible by law.

How can I get more involved?
We're always looking to expand our team, so the first step is to email us at [email protected] and tell us what you'd like to do to help share Mr. Greenfield's story with the world. Maybe you'd like to host a house party fundraising event (in-person or virtual), sponsor a virtual or in-person screening, connect us to potential partners, etc. Every little bit helps. We look forward to hearing from you!

When will the film be released?
We are looking to complete the film in June 2021, and screen it at film festivals worldwide during the second half of 2021. We are planning virtual screenings during this time as well. In 2022, we will focus on educational distribution and television broadcasts. In late-2022/early-2023 we plan to make the film available to general audiences on DVD and VOD.

How can I get a custom-made Greenfield suit?
